Donna Salyers, President and founder of Fabulous-Furs, explains how it all began . . .

“Inspiration for Fabulous-Furs came over a decade ago when I was on my way to purchase a mink coat. On my car radio, Paul Harvey described kittens being skinned to become “mink” teddy bears. Instead of buying a coat that day, I was inspired to create a luxurious alternative. Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine that Fabulous-Furs would evolve into fine ready-to-wear, attracting a clientele of high-profile, internationally recognized celebrities. As a real-life Cinderella, it’s fabulous to see our guilt-free products in movies, on TV and Broadway. It’s gratifying to know that our products, in providing a luxurious alternative to real animal fur, bring joy to people all over the world, and at the same time, make unnecessary the destruction of countless animals.”

Maybe you’ve seen us on TV, in newspapers, in magazines or on the stage?

All fake fur / faux fur is not created equal. At Donna Salyers’ Fabulous-Furs, our faux fur coats, faux fur jackets, and faux fur throws are the world’s finest because we start with the most luxurious faux fur fabrics and marry them with Donna’s unmatched sewing expertise and faux fur knowledge.

While most fake fur is made from acrylic fibers, Fabulous-Furs only uses mod-acrylic fibers to ensure that our fake fur is the softest, most realistic fabric available. What cashmere is to wool, mod-acrylic is to acrylic. Donna works hand in hand with our manufacturers to ensure that every bolt of fabric is made to perfection and that its unique properties (color, pile, density, resemblance to animal fur) are approximately matched to the fake fur coat, fake fur jacket, or fake fur throw it is designed for. In our workroom, master cutters prepare each piece, one at a time, meticulously gauging where each pelt line must fall on the finished garment. After hours of hand finishing, the result is a spectacular fake fur coat, fake fur jacket or fake fur accessory that will make you look and feel beautiful for many years.

It has taken over 20 years for Donna to create the world’s finest faux fur. While there are countless imitations on the market, none offer the impeccable quality of Fabulous-Furs. Donna takes great pride in offering the most beautiful and realistic faux fur products available anywhere in the world. And clearly, others have noticed. Fabulous-Furs has been featured in television programs such as The Today Show, The View, General Hospital, One Life to Live, As The World Turns, Law & Order, Fast Lane, and MTV Cribs. Fashion publications like Allure, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, InStyle, Lucky, Star, Life & Style, and even Sports Illustrated have requested our products. And Hollywood loves our faux fur too – look for us in You’ve Got Mail, Charlie’s Angels 2, and a Nicole Kidman film, Fur, as well as the 2006 season of Sopranos.

But the greatest satisfaction Fabulous-Furs takes is knowing that we have created a beautiful, unique product that has enabled thousands of women (and some men!) to look and feel glamorous and remarkably fashionable. And together we do so affordably and without harming a single animal. Why settle for anything less than Fabulous-Furs?
