A Fabulous Secret Millionaire
Flipping through TV channels, I caught a pretty blonde in a White Mink-trimmed Red velour robe. Certain it was from Fabulous-Furs, I checked our files and discovered indeed there was a Richmond, VA customer whose name matched the woman on Secret Millionaire. In this reality show, Debbie Johnston travels to Richmond, CA to spend a week volunteering at three non-profits. At the end of the week, it’s Debbie’s decision how substantial donations will be disbursed among the non-profits.
I took the liberty of sending an e-mail asking if, indeed it WAS her on ABC’s Secret Millionaire and Debbie graciously responded yes. Earning my undying devotion, Debbie added she loves our clothes and agreed to a phone conversation to share her story. As delightful off-screen as on, Debbie said the Secret Millionaire segment was actually taped two years prior and has already aired in New Zealand, Australia and UK.
A successful entrepreneur as well as author, in her book The School of Heart Knocks, Debbie describes how as an RN, she built a multi-million dollar health care company beginning with a single sheet of paper in 1988. She’s remained in touch with the three Richmond, CA non-profits for which she volunteered. Even more impressive is her philanthropic work in her hometown. Just minutes into the show, watch for Debbie wearing our faux fur-trimmed robe as she apprehensively packs. BTW, Debbie said she loved her robe so much, she ordered ten for gifts!
