Based in Osaka, Japan, Kaneka pioneered and now excels in fiber development and production. Modacrylic fiber is critical to outstanding faux fur and each year, the folks at Kaneka dazzle and amaze us with fabrics even more beautiful and touch-able than the year before. Known as Kanecaron, these high-end modacrylic fibers are to faux fur what cashmere is to wool. Kanecaron transforms an ordinary faux fur into something fabulous. From the beginning, a high percentage of this costly fiber in our fabrics has allowed us to provide you with outstanding fabrics and products. Kanecaron is unique in that it has not only the appearance, but the touch of animal fur. Kanecaron is inherently flame retardant; i.e., flame extinguishes when the source is removed. While a layman won’t be excited about fiber versatility and negative static electricity, in wearing, all of us appreciate incredibly warm, yet extremely lightweight fabrics that are also kind to the environment.
