I bought a size up in hopes that they would get 2 seasons out of them and figuring they would have extra room for a sweater under it, but they are huge; especially for my little one. I would not buy bigger if you're going to try this coat. As for the coat, one of the buttons was hanging off by a long thread, i find it ridiculous that for the price this type of thing isn't looked over before they are shipped. Basically the coats are cute, but not fabulous and they definitely run very big. I would say they look a little too grown up for little girls. I bought 2 last fall a bit big for my girls and expect to get at least 2.5 years out of that current size and then I will be rebuying. ( You can tuck the sleeves up in a couple inches and it stays put without tacking or coming down when they take the coat on or off.) It is absolutely beautiful and because of the stunning soft neutral color; in the NorthEast US I wear this to go to chuch, Thanksgiving Dinner, Xmas, New Year, Holiday, Family Gatherings, all the way through to a cold Easter Morning. Because it is not white it even allows the coat to be worn with even a dressier jean outfit without looking out of whack. I've worn it with gold/tan dresses in the fall, red and black in the winter, and pinks in the spring and people gush over my girls when they wear them. One of my girls is long hair brunette and the other is golden blonde shoulder length and it is stunning on both. They both love to wear it and are noticeably snuggly warm in it even with only tights on under dresses. I use cream mittens with it in the cold winter. If you are on the fence- buy it- I debated for a couple months ( because I had to buy 2) you will be more than satisfied and delighted with your decision and so will your girl! My girls were! He got it big so she is still able to wear it. Everyone stops me asking where did I find a MInk for a child. I smile and say it was a gift.. I love the realness of your line of products.
