The neck is cut perfectly as it is cut high and keeps my neck warm. It is very stylish. In regards to sizing, I had to send my medium back for a large as it is cut small since it is made abroad. Do not neglect this step. GET a size larger. Fabulous Furs gave me back my refund immediately upon receipt of the medium coat as I had to buy this twice. The hooks stay closed. It is a warm coat but for a really cold day, I suggest wearing a sweater or vest underneath it. FANTASTIC coat.
